The Rotary Club of Canterbury made the donation to the homeless charity to help buy new computer equipment.

Porchlight is a Kent-wide independent local charity that works to support single, vulnerable homeless people or those at risk of homelessness.

Fundraising manager Lisa Oeder said: "Having a computer to access the internet enables residents to access information on training, move-on accommodation and health advice, as well as helping with job-seeking.

"We are very grateful to the Rotary Club of Canterbury for their gift, which means that we can provide this much needed resource and help our residents to increasingly regain their independence.

"We are always interested to hear from people, companies and groups that might be able to help the charity, through fundraising or holding an event to raise money for us."
