A visitor from Miami, USA

We were delighted to have a visitor "from" Miami at our regular meeting yesterday. It's always lovely to welcome members of Rotary from around the world...

...only this time, although our visitor, Lara Gurdulic, is a member of a Miami-based club, she actually lives here in Canterbury!

Lara is a member of the Rotary Passport Satellite Club of Miami Brickell - a Miami-based Club that meets online, meaning that Lara (who used to live and study in Miami when she joined Rotary) can still be an active member. Right now Lara lives in the UK as she is studying Forensic Psychology at the University of Kent.

Lara has been enjoying visiting various Rotary clubs and finding out about their work. It was a delight to meet her and we're already hoping that she will take an active part in one of our future fundraising events. And of course we welcome Lara (and other Rotarians) to any of our regular meetings, guest nights and other fundraisers!

Lara is of mixed heritage and for her Rotary has been very exciting, giving her opportunities to meet people from all sorts of backgrounds. It's one of the advantages of Rotary - you really are part of a huge, welcoming, global family.
