Donation to Shelterbox following Haiti Earthquake

Members of our International Committee have agreed to make a donation to ShelterBox; Our donation should cover the cost of one box; these have essential items needed by families affected by disasters.

ShelterBox currently has a team working in Haiti, " to support communities affected the most from the recent earthquake".

The 7.2 magnitude earthquake hit the country on Saturday 14 August, causing widespread destruction. The situation there was made even more difficult because of Covid and, a few days later, Tropical Storm Grace.  According to ShelterBox, "more than 135,000 homes were reported to be damaged or destroyed and over 2,200 fatalities were confirmed".

Many Rotary Clubs around the work support ShelterBox - and Rotary International is a project partner with the charity, which provides emergency shelter to families who have lost their home as a result of a natural disaster or conflict.
