Duck travels: Duck in Sandwich

Some of our members travelled over to Sandwich today to talk with members of the Rotary Club of Sandwich about their Annual Duck Race.

We had a productive meeting at the Bell Hotel, and got plenty of tips from our fellow Rotarians on how we can improve our duck race (to be held later this year). Many thanks to the Rotary Club of Sandwich for their suggestions.

Nelson Duck came along on the trip as he always feels at home near the sea - and he was particularly pleased to see the P-22 gunboat moored by the quay. The boat was part of the 'Rhine Patrol', policing the Rhine river in Germany at the end of the 2nd World War. More recently, the boat has seen 'action' of a different sort as it was used in the blockbuster film Dunkirk.

Picture: Seeing the P-22 moored by the quay certainly floated this duck's boat! Picture credit: Rotary Club of Canterbury.
