Vocational Service Committee

Vocational services in its widest sense exists encourages Rotarians to serve others through their jobs and professions and to promote the highest ethical standards.

The Vocational Services committee of the Rotary Club of Canterbury reaches out to schools in our area by organising competitions and events. Annually we run both a youth speaks competition and an innovation competition. We collaborate with the English Speaking Union in organising the Kent Schools public speaking competition. This year we will also run a children’s descriptive writing competition and have been excited to be associated with the “Big Sing” when 240 primary school children performed at the Marlowe Theatre.

We also organise outings and events for members and guests. While the primary objective is to be informative they also provide an opportunity for social and enjoyable get togethers for Rotarians and their guests. In the last year and among others we have or are organising trips to The RAF Battle of Britain memorial at Cheriton, Fordwich Town Hall, Richborough and Chapel Down Vineyard.
