Rotary Club of Canterbury Duck Race 2019

We're very excited to be hosting our twentieth Duck Race on Sunday 15 September in Westgate Gardens, Canterbury. Thousands of ducks will be launched into the river at Toddler's Cove and will 'swim' to the finishing line.

There's no need to book folks - just turn up with your friends and family to watch the race (directions below).
If you want to sponsor a duck to cheer on, we hope to have a limited number of ducks on the day (15th Sept), but please come around 11am to avoid di
sappointment. There are great prizes for the winners of the race, including a first prize of £250. All profits from the event will go to charities and good causes that we support. (Arrangements to award winners their prizes will be made after the event.)
The race will start at 1pm (weather and conditions allowing), but as it's very popular we advise you get there early. As usual, there will be lots of quacking puns to keep crowds entertained. We hope to also be joined by the Lord Mayor of Canterbury!

Prizes:
1st prize, £250
2nd, £100
3rd, Cafe des Amis voucher
4th, Westgate Punts voucher
5th, Caraccio's Hair and Beauty voucher
A big thanks to those donating the vouchers.
Thanks also to Kentish Gazette, Gallagher, Direction Law SolicitorsThornhill Eco Range Cookers and Necessary Furniture
Thanks too to Canterbury Lifesaving Club who will be in the water as usual, helping to keep everyone safe, and to keep our little yellow ducks on track and stopping them getting lost.
The race is held in Westgate Gardens, which is part of Westgate Parks. You can find directions here: https://www.westgateparks.co.uk/.../directions-to-the.../
The race STARTS at Toddlers Cove and ENDS near the entrance to Westgate Gardens (near Westgate Towers).
Look forward to seeing everyone there!
