Manning a stall at Canterbury’s Great Stour Riverfest Fair

It was a great pleasure to take part in the Great Stour Riverfest Fair on Sunday at Canterbury’s Riverside Square at Kingsmead. The event wrapped up Riverfest for this year, and was attended by lots of local families.

The free, family-friendly event, which helped celebrate World Rivers Day 2025, featured stalls and activities from local organisations that were involved in running the events during this year’s Riverfest, such as East Kent Stour Trust, did ‘river dipping’, Friends of Westgate Gardens who did Bat walks, and Wildwood Trust. SouthEast Water had a water conservation stand and The Environment Agency used the outdoor cinema to show a film about river conservation. We, of course, had already held our Duck Race which featured on day 1 of Riverfest and kicked the week-long event off off with a splash. Our stall at the fair was manned by President Raj Dasan, Past President Maxine Blades and Rotarian Irina Marta – and featured a fun little duck-fishing game.
