Evening talk: Who are the Pumping Thighs?

We were delighted to be joined by “Pumping Thighs” during our meeting the other day. But “who are they?”, you might well ask.

Quite simply, Pumping Thighs, as the name might suggests, is a cycle group. There are around 10 of them altogether. They started cycling together as a group in 2002. Their first trip together was the Camino to Santiago de Compostella ride in Spain; since then they have gone on  many more trips across Europe and the UK. Interestingly, although though don’t make a practice of doigng charity runs, during one of their first trips they raised an amazing £2000 for a sensory garden at St Nicholas School. Our current President, Tony Loughran is one of the Pumping Thighs members and great advocate for getting on your bike – “it’s great fun,” says Tony, and “definitely a great way to get fit!”
