On Saturday 30th May 2009 the Club held an Auction of Promises in the Dining Hall of The King’s School. Approximately 80 Club members and friends were there and the evening commenced with a delicious buffet, provided by members of Inner Wheel.
Our Auctioneer, Mr James Linnington of Canterbury Auction Galleries, went briskly through over 100 lots, which ranged from a hamper full of jams and marmalades to a helicopter flight over London. Bidding was often intense between rival bidders. The evening raised a total of more than £5700, which we expect to be considerably augmented by Gift Aid.
