Rotary Donation Aids Local Youth Club

A generous donation of £500 (five hundred pounds) by the Rotary Club of Canterbury has enabled Chartham Youth Club to expand the range of what it offers local youngsters.

The cash has been used by the youth club to purchase a range of ‘large games’ which can be used both indoors and outside. The youngsters can now play snooker, Connect-4 and foam-build games thanks to the Rotary money.

Chartham Youth Club regularly attracts over one hundred local young people aged between nine and sixteen.

Chris Service, the chairman of Chartham Youth Club who leads a team of 17 volunteer adults says the donation will have a lasting benefit for the club and those that attend it. He said: “These generous gifts will give so much please to so many for many years to come – thank you Canterbury Rotary Club”.

Dr David Barton, Chairman of Canterbury Rotary Club’s Community Service Committee, paid tribute to the good work carried out by Chartham Youth Club. He said: “This is a vibrant, well run youth club and the Rotary Club of Canterbury is proud to be able to support such a worthwhile local activity in this way”.
