PP Alastair is tops again with this year’s Poppy Appeal Collection

The second highlight from our meeting yesterday was hearing how much we, as a Club, helped raise for the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal this year during the street collections in Canterbury.

In a message from Gerald Ferrett MBE, we were delighted to learn that our total for this year was just over £2,422. The money was raised by our Members during street collections around the City. Our Members are always pleased to help, although it has to be said that the weather this year was atrocious at times.

The total was announced by PP Stephen Thompson – who also gave special congratulations to PP Alastair Scott who managed to raise over £400!

Monies raised from the appeal are used in the welfare and support of serving and ex-service men and women and their families. Our immense thanks to the members of the public who gave so generously.
