Out and about in Canterbury City Centre for the 2024 Poppy Appeal

Look who would have greeted you with a big smile today if you were in Canterbury City Centre – none other than our President Maxine Blades and Past President Viv Pritchard! Both were very pleased to be helping with this year’s Poppy Appeal by the Royal British Legion.

Luckily the weather was relatively mild – which meant the City Centre was busy with shoppers and visitors (including quite a few ghosts and ghoulies enjoying Halloween). So there were plenty of people getting their poppies today.

We’re delighted to say that this year our members have put themselves forward for over 60 hours of volunteering for the Appeal. Missed us? Don’t worry – we’ll be out again tomorrow.

(If you’d like to donate but are unable to do so in person, you can donate direct to the Royal British Legion online here, where you can also learn more about the Legion and how it spends the funds that it raises.)
