The Canterbury Society helps spread news of our Duck Race

We’re grateful to The Canterbury Society for sharing a piece about our Duck Race in their newsletter to hundreds of their members. Spreading word about fundraisers among the wider community always helps increase reach and awareness of our work.

Our Duck Race is now very much part of Canterbury life – we’ve been running it for over 20 years. As our main fundraising event, it’s helped us to raise tens of thousands of pounds – which, over the years, have gone towards some great local and international causes – from helping local schools to supporting charities providing disaster relief following emergencies overseas.

This year the race will take place on Sunday 21st September – which is also the first day of the Great Stour Riverfest.

Speaking of the Duck Race, Hilary Brian, Chair of The Canterbury Society stated: “The Rotary Duck Race is always a fun, popular event for locals in Canterbury and for visitors to our wonderful City. The race also raises valuable funds for the Rotary Club of Canterbury, so we’re very happy to tell others about the event and encourage people to go along.”

In case you don’t know much about The Canterbury Society, its mission is: “To provide a focus for all who care about our city; to campaign to protect our heritage; to improve the quality of life and of the City’s environment; to inspire civic pride, active citizenship and volunteering ; and ultimately to make Canterbury a better place to live, work and play!”
