Be like CommunityAd and help support our work!

Perhaps you’ve wondered at times how you can help the Rotary Club of Canterbury help others? Well – as well as becoming a member – you could support us in some way through your organisation, just as local magazine CommunityAd does.

As a voluntary organisation based here in Canterbury, it’s really important that the local community is aware of our existence and the various causes that we support. It’s also important that members of the community hear about public events such as our Annual Duck Race and other fundraisers, youngsters hear about our competitions, and that potential members learn about our range of activities. We’re therefore very grateful when we get coverage in local media.

CommunityAd is a free, monthly, local magazine that champions a #KeepingItLocal movement. It has a special issue just for Canterbury & nearby villages – many readers will receive hard copies through their letterbox or will read articles online.

Over recent years CommunityAd has published a number of articles and updates about us – and sometimes also about local charities or causes that we’ve supported. Overall, CommunityAd has a portfolio of around 45 titles which reach a combined readership of over 7.8 million annually.  Most of its team members works across these. For example, as well as the Canterbury issue (which is the third largest after Thanet and Tonbridge & Tunbridge Wells), there’s one for Bridge, Herne Bay etc. For Canterbury, they print and distribute 23,000 copies – this plus their online issues give an estimated readership of 58,000 people – so that means, potentially, thousands of people who might read about us!

The magazine says it’s “well-received, well-read, and well-loved” and takes pride in its close community relationships, including with local clubs (such as ours) and other groups and organisations. This July Community Ad will be delivering its 60th issue! “This milestone,” the magazine says, “is a true testament to our unwavering dedication to local life and our commitment to keeping the community connected and informed!”

We’d like to offer our congratulations to the magazine on passing this exciting milestone and look forward to working together with the team as CommunityAd continues to spread news among Canterbury’s residents and visitors.
