First purple crocus raising awareness of polio

Taken before the storm – but so excited to have our first picture of a Rotary crocus raising awareness of polio. Hopefully we should see more and more of these crocuses coming up all around the local area to help this cause.

As you may remember, out Members were busy selling or donating crocuses last year to support and raise awareness of Rotary International’s efforts to eradicate this disease from the world.

The variety of crocus is Crocus tommasinianus (Ruby Giant). They are bright purple crocuses – so hopefully you’ll see lots of purple patches around the local area as spring (we hope) progresses.  Please do send us your pictures!

Take care out there today in the storm everyone.
