The photo shows the latest delivery to the warehouse on the Thanet Way, most of which was Christmas nibbles such as mince pies, Christmas cakes, sweets for children, supplemented by crisps tins of ham and fruit. The Club’s donation has been very much appreciated.
In the financial year 2015/16 the Food Bank gave out over 3,000 parcels and works closely with the CAB, Porchlight, Women’s Refuge, Christians Against Poverty, Catching Lives, East Kent Housing Association and the Salvation Army. It was interesting to be told that where the expiry date on tins had been exceeded volunteer students at the bank were only too pleased to take them.
