Lendwithcare update, May 2025

Since we opened our account with microfinance organisation Lendwithcare in 2016 we’ve managed to give 325 loans, totalling well over £10,500, to entrepreneurs in developing countries.

Our Lendwithcare account is currently overseen by our International Committee, who gave out five new loans back in April. Each loan was for £45 and went to entrepreneurs in Ecuador, Thailand, The Philippines (2 projects) and Vietnam, mainly for farming or agricultural-type projects. Through these small loans we aim to help people in developing countries out of poverty.

One recent loan went to Necel, a young mother who lives with her partner, Ricardo, in Cebu in the Philippines. Ricardo is a fisherman; the couple upgraded their fishing vessel recently but needed money for new nets and other tools – which our loan will help purchase.

The latest loans mean that in total, according to Lendwithcare, our loans have helped 1272 entrepreneurs and their families and have helped create 888 jobs.

You can find out more about Lendwithcare here – or click here to find out more about the support that our Rotary Club has provided. (There are many other Rotary Clubs that also lend via Lendwithcare.)
