Did you know about Rotary Radio UK? It’s a great way of spreading news among Rotarians – and as it’s also listened to by many non-Rotarians, it’s a great way of reaching out to them too!
As we’ve said in a previous article, we’re looking forward to the unveiling of The Point (a carved stone column housing a water bottle filling station) at the end of the month. It’s our gift to the people of Canterbury to mark our centenary – we hope it will save thousands if not millions of single-use plastic bottles from going to waste, that it will provide Canterbury with a new attraction to draw visitors to the city centre, and that it will inspire other clubs to undertake similar environmental projects to mark their milestones – after all, the environment is one of Rotary’s 7 areas of focus.
We contacted Steve Wood at Rotary Radio UK in case he could help spread the word – they have helped us in the past, for instance in promoting our annual Duck Race fundraiser and even interviewing two of the F1 in Schools teams that we’ve supported (see here and here). We were delighted to receive this audio file which Rotary Radio UK will be putting “on air” until the summer – encouraging visitors to Canterbury to come and see The Point for themselves.
