We’re delighted that Rotary Great Britain & Ireland has helped spread the word about The Point via its digital magazine, which is shared with tens of thousands of Rotarians across the region.
We’ve always been eager to share the story of The Point – our environmental gift to Canterbury to mark our Centenary – with fellow Rotarians across the country. As the environment is Rotary International’s seventh and newest Area of Focus, we hope our project serves as an inspiration for other clubs to create something meaningful and lasting for their own communities, especially when celebrating significant milestones.
With nearly 60,000 Rotarians and more than 1,500 Rotary clubs in Great Britain and Ireland, the potential collective impact is enormous. Just imagine the difference it would make if every club undertook a project that supported and celebrated the environment!
Of course, we encountered a number of challenges along the way in developing The Point, and we learned a great deal through the process. We warmly encourage any clubs considering a similar initiative to get in touch – whether for inspiration, guidance, or practical tips. We’d be happy to share what we’ve learned and support others in bringing their environmental ideas to life.
