Donation to UNICEF to support children affected by the Gaza crisis

Seeing the ongoing struggles of children and families as a result of the crisis in Gaza, our International Committee agreed recently to make a donation to UNICEF (The United Nations Children’s Fund).

As most readers will know, UNICEF — The United Nations Children’s Fund – is a child-rights organisation that was established by the UN in 1946. According to their website, UNICEF helps children access safe water, nutrition and education, depending on needs and resources.

UNICEF’s website states that in Gaza, alongside its partners and local communities, UNICEF is delivering lifesaving supplies and services including:

  • medical care
  • nutrition support and lifesaving therapeutic food
  • clean water for drinking and sanitation

A £500 donation via our International Committee was topped up to £600 with a donation of £100 from one of our members.
