Helping the League of Friends for K&C Hospital

Our Rotary volunteers were busy BBQing at the Kent & Canterbury Hospital League of Friends Summer Fair today, with burgers and hot dogs galore!

The weather was just right for the event - which this year featured a Brass Band, Fun Dog Show and Face Painting! Lots of families were seen to be browsing the stalls, many of them manned either by League of Friends volunteers or by staff from various departments of the hospital. A grand draw with a top pize of £1,000 was another top attraction.

Our BBQ stall, manned by Tony, Alastair and Heather, Gill, Mike, John, Viv, Harry and Sheila, raised £300 for the fair. Leftover food was taken to the folk at Thanington Resource Centre who were very pleased to receive the burgers, sausages and rolls!

Overall it was a very happy event - well done to the organisers and to all that took part!
